Ruth Malkinson, Ph.D. is the director of training at the International Laboratory for the Study of Loss, Bereavement and Resilience, University of Haifa. Director of the Israeli Center of REBT, she is past president of the Israeli Association for Family and Marital Therapy. Her fields of expertise are grief, trauma and bereavement and RE-CBT. Dr. Malkinson maintains an active psychotherapy and supervision practice. She has authored numerous articles on bereavement, cognitive grief therapy, loss and trauma, She co-edited with S. S. Rubin and E. Witztum: Loss and bereavement in Jewish society in Israel (Hebrew,1993); Traumatic and nontraumatic loss and bereavement: Clinical theory and practice (2001). Dr. Malkinson also wrote “Working with the bereaved: Multiple lenses on loss and mourning” (2012) with Professors Rubin and Witztum. Her own book : Cognitive grief therapy: Constructing a rational meaning to life following loss (2007) was translated recently to Spanish.
